AC/DC triumph at first Scottish show in 10 years at Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium

AC/DC concluded their European Power Up Tour with a triumphant concert at Edinburgh Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on Thursday night (21st August) in front of 70,000 euphoric fans.

The legendary band’s first Scottish show in a decade was a homecoming for guitarist and sole constant AC/DC member Angus Young, who was born 70 years ago in Glasgow.

To mark the momentous occasion, AC/DC kicked off their encore with the first full band performance of ‘Fling Thing’ in 45 years, before launching into ‘T.N.T’.

Singer Brian Johnson quipped at the end of ‘Fling Thing’ – the band’s interpretation of traditional Scottish folk song ‘The Bonnie Banks o' Loch Lomond’ - “Never heard that one before!”

AC/DC opened their 23-song set with ‘If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)’ and wrapped up the rock n’ roll masterclass two hours later with an emphatic ‘For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)’ and a fireworks finale.

Other classics on AC/DC’s Edinburgh setlist included ‘Back in Black’, ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’, ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’, ‘Thunderstruck’, ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’ and ‘Let There Be Rock’.
